If you had asked many Australians a week or so
ago to describe their current election campaign, they would probably say it was
boring or meaningless. Someone needed to shake things up.
Well, 60 Minutes
certainly managed to do that.
Our Australian colleagues hired a guest reporter,
former Labor Party leader Mark Latham, and he caused a huge furore when he
collared both the Prime Minster Julia Gillard and her opponent Tony Abbott as
they went walkabout among the voters.
Latham was described as a bully and an
attention seeker, but at least he knows what he’s talking about – he has
experienced an election campaign from the frontline.
Maybe that's why the politicians
are so scared of him.
