Whale Oil blogger Cameron Slater has pleaded not guilty to five charges of breaching name suppression orders.

Slater made a brief appearance at the Auckland District Court where was remanded at large until a status hearing on March 2 when a date will be set for a further hearing.

Outside court Mr Slater told reporters that prosecutors said he is likely to face two more charges for two separate alleged breaches of court orders.

It is the "in" thing to do, pleading not guilty to anything one is quilty of. It is no longer important to take responsibility for one's actions. The legal fraternity even thinks that the use of a weapon does not mean intent to injure or kill. No, responsibility is a thing of the past.
