Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher are set to rejoin Twitter and Facebook after successfully helping to raise US$1 million for Alicia Keys' children's charity.

The pop superstars agreed to sign off of all social networking sites as part of a new campaign, Digital Life Sacrifice, to raise donations for Key's Keep A Child Alive Foundation.

The celebrities, which also included Kim Kardashian and US TV personality Ryan Seacrest, logged off their computers last week to mark World AIDS Day, and refused to return to tweeting and updating their Facebook pages until the target of US$1 million was reached.

And now they can sign back on - the stars and fans raised US$500,000, while billionaire and philanthropist Stewart Rahr matched the pledges, donating the other US$500,000 to reach the goal.

Tweeting in celebration on Monday, Usher wrote, "I'm alive! We raised $1mil to help KCA (Keep A Child Alive) fight AIDS. Thank you so much and never stop buying life!"
