The tarmac is barely set at Hampton Downs and already they're trying to tear it up.
Today a group of Porsche drivers became part of New Zealand motorsport history - as they were the first to lap the new circuit south of Auckland.
But the actual honour of driving the maiden lap belongs to Tony Roberts and after investing five years and $60 million in building the country's first new circuit in three decades - you could hardly deny him the privilege.
With fast wide turns and several elevation changes the track has received top marks from the racers.
