The Government can arrest all 400,000 of us and build another 200 prisons or it can embrace us as a massive part of NZ who dont give give a toss about the law and never will because it was legal back in 1930.... So its sure as hell legal in 2010, same plant, different time.
This 'law' definitely needs an overhaul, I wish Dakta Green goodluck in his endeavors to help legalize Marijuana in NZ.
I have now smoked cannibus for 14 years daily. I am an award winning chef and have travelled. I am currently saving to own my own business and then maybe a home. Because i smoke cannibus I am NOT a drone and plod along with the rest of the world. I am full of ambition and drive, I also want the finer things in life. I choose to not drink alcohol and pollute my body, I choose not to smoke nicotine and become slow and unhealthy. I choose to smoke cannibus and endorse its benefits. It's not for all people, as with everything. However i am also not a Criminal and should not be treated as one. My tax dollar is just as strong as a non smokers. The government is for the dollar and greed not for the people.... THey always legalize stuff that they know that make money for them to fill their pockets,and stuff that 's ruin peoples lives like aaa cigarette, prostitution,and gambling but they always ban other stuff that they know, they are the ones who are gonna loose out....because if u smoke u will only if they know that people who smoke a lot means eat a lot equal generating money for them cause they will buy more food from the shop. No one ever die from smoking pot, and any doctor who say otherwise, was obviously being payed.. full circle.
nearly everyone smokes it or nows someone who does thousands of kiwis grow it there is no way the fuzz can actualy win the war on cannabis and even police officors stick their hypocritical faces over the cannabis they burn and take a deep breath.It has been proven that smoking cannabis is less harmfull to a persons health than getting drunk or smoking cigerettes.Also driving while stoned isn't dangerous at all infact it is more likly to be safer as your hearing improves and you tend to analylize things alot more.Cannabis is a non violent mellow or relaxed drug alcohole on the other hand, not allways but can have a violent effect on a person.but sadly we still see and hear about people being imprisoned for it and our prisons are supposed to be crowded wonder why.The only logical explanation is their is not enough truthfull information actually reaching our MPs wich is discusting i would love to see john key actually try it and then judge for himself as its in no way addictive he could i dont see why he cant?oh yea and this would actually give people motovation to plant plants wich would maby just maby bring down global warming so in conclusion i will burn a new zealand flag every first saturday of may till New Zealanders actually can keep nz green.
California is looking towards legalising marijuana and a bill doing so has recently just passed it's first hearing in the Public Safety Committee. This is a HUGE change from what the current federal laws are in the US and the local laws in NZ. It is a hot topic in the state of California, with the majority of people supporting legalisation, according to several polls. For this bill to be passed, it needs to be heard and passed before the Public Health Committee before Friday, and then it will be debated before the state Assembly. Marijuana legalisation is a hot topic across the US, with the US having the second highest arrest rate for marijuana use. The first is NZ, due to our similar laws. Three cheers to Dakta green and the Daktory. There should be more clubs just like it. Why not, for 30 years the NORML org has aked politely to make canabis legal to enjoy and promote responsible use. This has become very much a human rights issue for me . As a woman in this country, where I may legally sell my body for sex and terminate an unwanted pregnancy I really don't think any one should really be bothered if I want to smoke a plant. Come on people this is worth making a stand for. Just as other people in the past have fought for the right to a civil union or homosexual law reform. Do not let your rights be eroded. Remember Vietnam, they stopped a war.

Cyril says we have enough problems with tobacco and alcohol. First, remember that alcohol is a known poison with few health benefits if any. Tobacco is worse. Cannabis is widely used as a medicine and accepted as such in many countries. Second, its a question of justice. We have currently over 300,000 adult cannabis users. How can Cyril justify hitting them with fines and Court processes just because they smoke a plant that he does not? Let's all stick to the point. This is not about hemp or biofuel or any other industrial use. Its about fining and jailing mostly young, often Maori people who happen to smoke dak. Keep the focus on that! Freedom is NORML.
