The pressure is on for Silver Fern hopefuls, with selectors having put the 25-strong squad through three intense days of trials already.
With only one day of camp left players are giving it their all, with coach Waimarama Taumaunu saying some having already succeeded.
“There are a number who have stepped up,” she says. “There are a couple really starting to put their hands up so that’s great.”
There is a lot of depth in talent down the defensive end of court with several younger players coming through, and defender Anna Harrison says the seniors are thriving off the challenge.
“It’s great having competition like that because you need that next age group coming through,” she says. “We’ve been playing in combinations for a while and it’s really good to try and work in with new ones.”
The team to play Australia will be named on Monday.
