A sexual predator who performed indecencies on nine young girls at a Bay of Plenty school camp has had a sentence of preventive detention imposed on him.
Matthew Everson was sentenced in the High Court at Rotorua on Thursday and Justice Graham Laing noted that despite taking part in the Kia Marama sexual offenders programme, which had a relatively high success rate, he had reoffended.
Everson had pleaded guilty to three charges of indecent assault on children and six of committing indecent acts on young people.
