It isn't possible when you factor in electricity, clothing, education, transport, water, toiletires and a nutritional diet. Stop show biz and be real. This may stunt may grab attention but that is all. Deeper needs need to be addressed such as gainful employment, etc. This would take a thesis to address the problems of poverty. Not so simple to resolve nfortunately and very unhelpful to do this from the comfort of a warm, insulated home.

I have two things to say:
1. Congratulations for sheding light on something that the current government has been in denial about.
2. Welcome to my world, I continuously live below a certain level, it has been about a month maybe longer since we could afford to get meat. the price of milk is insane, we mostly eat bread as it is only $2 (sometimes $1.70)

Thanks to the Lomu family for the respectful way they did this challenge and making it clear they did this with difficulty for one week but for some people this is their lives year in and year out. A celebrity not blaming the poor. How refreshing!

Kia Ora Kapai, I want to thank you for the Lomu family for their honesty and sincerity. They did what others fail to see - that for some families this is forever...... not just a one week trial .... A family who have made it but who are humble and are not putting those down who are not making it. Thankyou to the Campbell team in your awareness raising campaign of the hungry and poor in NZ. You give us the model to stop judging and start doing............. AROHANUI AND GOD BLESS
