An independent group supporting Republican Mitt Romney is launching a major TV advertising push in four presidential battleground states.

American Crossroads announced the new ad campaign Wednesday. The spot, titled "Four More," says Americans would face more taxes, greater debt and higher unemployment if President Barack Obama is re-elected.

The ad says, quote: "Another four years focused on everything but jobs? No thanks."

American Crossroads is a super PAC with ties to Karl Rove, a longtime political adviser to former President George W. Bush. The group plans to spend US$7.4 million to air the ad in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.

Crossroads and its affiliated outfit, Crossroads GPS, earlier this year announced plans to spend up to US$300 million on ads to influence the 2012 elections.
