@ GANG MEMBER... U SUMMED IT UP PERFECTLY.

Let's start targeting P and leave the dope smokers alone. Dope mellows people, whereas alcohol often makes people violent morons. About time National got their priorities right me thinks.

NZers are sheep tho, nobody will do a damned thing about it except sit on these pages and whinge.

Dear National Government, please don't legalise cannabis. All of us in the criminal world are making so much (untaxed) cash off growing and selling. The last thing we need is our customers legally growing a few plants at home for their own private consumption. We'd lose million$. Thanks Simon Power and National, your current stance looks after both us and the booze barrons at the same time. The booze lords are as bad as us. Booze has killed 83 kiwis since mid 2007. Meanwhile, you make criminals out of ordinary citizens who like a quiet toke now and again all the while the stupid sheeple will vote for you thinking you're tough on gangs.

alchol is a far far worse drug, it cause 95% of family volence in nz. id rather be in a room full of stoned people then a room full of drunken idiots. the goverment wants ways to get tax revenue, lets open some cafes. that would be awesome. its time new zealand changed, would certainly help curve our binge drinking culture

@Georgeboy and others asking, good question! There is no proof that the weed is a gateway drug, ie one that leads to harder drugs. It is generally the company one keeps where the likelyhood of harder drugs becoming available is greater, and perhaps the pressure (real or unreal) to try them. Here in Ireland, Head Shops have taken the illegal trade away and forced the prices down from dealers causing some to fire bomb local Head Shops. If you are wondering what a head shop is, it is a place where you can buy legal concoctions imitating common and popular drugs usually found on the street such as weed. They are sold as "bath salts, incense etc" to name but two however you are warned that it is not for human consumption BUT what you do with it is up to you. They are making a KILLING! Some are open 7days a week, 24hours a day and will be opening in a shopping center near you soon.

corrupt legislation, you cannot respect a law that does more harm than good, study your history, find out when and why marijuana became illegal.

Most of the contibutors to this forum seem to be forgetting that the cultivating of marijuana is illegal. If we were to all start ignoring the laws of the land, just because we did not agree with them, we would have anarchy. Protest by all means but respect the laws of our land.

Oh gosh! Im not a pot smoker myself, but I don't see any harm in an odd joint and wouldn't mind if it was made legal, however I do wonder if young people start on weed they'll move on to harder drugs. Love to see more P busts, it's rotting our society!!!!
