Labour leader David Cunliffe says a controversial decision to pull most of the Problem Gambling Foundation's funding stands a good chance of being overturned.
Most of the foundation's 63 staff stand to lose their jobs after the Ministry of Health cancelled three-quarters of its funding.
Mr Cunliffe says papers released under the Official Information Act show the ministry put pressure on the foundation after its outspoken stance on the SkyCity deal.
"People can join the dots between a government that is leaning hard on independent social services, NGOs, and on the other hand the same government cosying right up to big money and big foreign money in particular," says Mr Cunliffe.
It's understood the foundation will file for a judicial review of the funding decision.
