Progress!

Wed, 16 Sep 2009 11:21a.m.
I feel like I've made real progress this week (rather than just talking about it haha) On Monday there was a package waiting in the mail; it was FH's ring!

Remember a while back we ordered it online from the US via the Etsy website? Well its perfect, fits great, looks great and was a great price! I'm so glad we took the plunge! We had a wee moment when I helped him try it on, thinking ahead to the big day... Of course he proceeded to tell me that he won't make it quite as easy to get the ring on when it counts, cheeky little devil I tell ya.

And on Tuesday there was another package waiting in the letterbox for me – my veil! You guessed it - perfect, everything I was hoping for and all for a cool US$29. Of course I had to have a secret prance around our bedroom with it on (although not so secret now I guess).

I've come to realise that if you're brave enough to skip the try-before-you-buy process, there are some huge savings to be made.

Do you realise that we're half way through September already? And that we're cutting it fine if we want to get the invites out this month!

So I got on the phone on Tuesday morning and ordered the paper for the invites, and have jacked up a time to trim and assemble them this Sunday. It’s all on!!!

Hmm what else (it’s been such a busy week it’s hard to remember it all, and its only Wednesday!) Oh I called the caterers and discussed the menu further. Looks like we can do pretty much everything we wanted, so I'm happy with that.

Eww and I even agreed to have peas at the wedding because FH loves them (okay he loves them frozen, but he really really likes them cooked too). Not my veggie of choice but oh well, the things we do for love!

We've managed all this with one sick little boy in the house too, talk about a juggling act! I guess one way to look on the bright side is that the two hour wait at after hours on Monday gave me ample time to think, hence the frantic planning on Tuesday!

Don't know how I'm going to top this week, watch this space...

I'm a 24 year old Wellingtonian preparing to marry my partner in crime on 30 Jan 2010.  In 2008 we got engaged, bought our first house and had our first child.  Instead of having 2009 off to recover, we're throwing ourselves head-first into wedding planning!  Did I mention we're trying to do it all for under 10K!?
