There is good reason for celebration in Weymouth, where 49er sailing crew Peter Burling and Blair Tuke claimed a silver medal.

Their mothers are at the Royal Dorset Yacht Club, and Blair’s mother Karen says it has been the proudest day of her life.

“It was a great day, it’s been very very cool.  A fantastic result for the boys, and we’re both very proud of them,” she says.

Peter’s mother Heather says it was good being able to watch the race knowing there was no pressure on the boys to win.

“It was really nice for us, because the boys had actually won the silver medal two days ago so today was fun, it didn’t matter where they finished in the race,” says Heather.
