A robber held a sharp object to the neck of a Dunedin pub owner and demanded the night's earnings before running off with the cash, police say.
The Normanby Tavern owner was confronted by a man about 8pm last night after closing the pub on North Road in north Dunedin.
A "sharp object" was held to the man's neck and chin before the alleged robber demanded money, police say.
The offender ran off with the undisclosed amount of cash.
The publican was left with a small gash to his chin but was otherwise unharmed.
The incident follows the alleged armed robbery of a Christchurch pub at closing time last Friday night.
Three men, two armed with firearms and the third with a crowbar, walked into Coasters Tavern in the northern suburb of Redwood and demanded cash.
No one was injured and police are still on the hunt for the alleged offenders.
