Put your hands together...

Fri, 27 Nov 2009 9:22a.m.
Put your hands together with us and welcome back the scrunch.

It’s the 80’s but not as you know it.

Lets explain, the scrunch is not a dance but one of the simplest ways to get natural texture into your hair with minimal fuss.

First your gonna need that big round thing that came with your hairdryer, it’s called a diffuser and is probably in some random cupboard. So find it, attach it to your dryer and your basically ready to go.

It gives straight hair a boho wave and curly hair volume and movement without encouraging frizz. You need to remove the majority of moisture then apply your fave lotion or mousse, face the diffuser up to the sky and place your hair in the dish.

Have your dryer on medium blow and watch magic happen. Your hair needs to be 90% dry then apply your finishing product by scrunching the hair again upward in fist fulls to encourage curl.

A light spray, again upward to hold the curl wouldn’t go astray.

It truly couldn’t be easier! Even the 'Can’t be arsed in the morning' brigade can join in. Which brings us to our next topic.

Gym Hair- Yes we have discussed this before but summer is nearly here so let's recap.

Please do not base your potentially beautiful hairstyle on what it does on the treadmill. It’s very rare that slicked back hair is gonna look good on your weekend.

The modern women requires sexy and feminine hair. This means softness, layers and possible fringes. So in your pump class you utilize headbands, clips, caps, whatever makes you comfortable, heck who looks great with a pink face and sweaty hair anyways. These things were invented for moments like these and then boo-yah- still have your hotness for your actual life.

Lets hope the weather continues especially for the Grey Lynn Festival!
