Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev and Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spent some of the New Year holiday skiing together at a resort near Sochi, where the 2014 Winter Olympics is to be held.
At the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort Putin and Medvedev skied downhill together and afterwards took to snow mobiles.
They greeted skiers, wished them Happy New Year and posed for photos with children - although one little boy struggled to identify his president, asking where Medvedev was.
The two leaders then moved inside to chat over cups of tea at one of the nearby cafes.
Almost every winter Putin visits the popular Krasnaya Polyana ski resort and this year Medvedev and his family also spent the New Year holiday there.
Sochi won the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympics in July 2007 after a close race with South Korea's Pyeongchang and Austria's Salzburg.
The Russian government plans to spend more than US$33 billion on preparations for the Games.
