Quake shakes northern Hawke's Bay

A 4.2 quake has hit near Northern Hawke's Bay.

The quake was 40km deep and hit 30km north-west of Wairoa at 9.24pm on Tuesday, GNS Science says.

It would have been felt in Wairoa, it says.
