The Queensland government has frozen more assets of the man accused of fleecing more than $16 million from Queensland Health.

Lawyers for the government appeared in the Supreme Court in Brisbane for the second time in just over a week to make a restraining order application against Hohepa Morehu-Barlow.

No details were given in court of the new items that have been frozen, but the list is expected to be made public this week.

The New Zealand-born man, also known as Joel Barlow, was arrested in December and charged with defrauding the government department of $11 million.

This amount was upgraded on Monday to more than $16.6 million.

Barlow was also charged with seven other offences including possessing drugs, falsifying records and official misconduct.

His lawyer, Adam Magill, said outside court his client intended to plead guilty to the charges.

The matter will be mentioned again later this month.
