I have aleady been punished for questioning the safety of the impending 1080 drop. I have removed all the cattle I graze for their own safety so have no Income At least I can sleep at night. However I am now very concerned about the Ground Drop done pre Christmas around the Egmont National Park and Ring Plane as most of the Birds Including Resident Paradise Ducks Pukekos etc dissapeared. We fence off Waterways for their good health only to have them laced with Cianide etc. All washing down to the sea. There is a lot of Sediment washing down now too so don't be surprised DOC when you have Blue Penguins Seals etc found dead along the Coastline.
DOC gets caught lying about the effects on the environment to do with these poisons all the time. When are we going to stop treating them as the authority rather than the criminal?

And to think people actually buy this rubbish that DOC continue to dribble It should be compulsory for DOC to conduct testing of any dead species within a certain radius of aerial poison drops to determine the cause of death! Isn't it obvious that these "coincidences" are becoming more frequent! And for the DOC rep to fobb the whole thing off by endorsing the consumption of fish immediately after a poison drop as if the risks are minimal or insignificant is foolish and careless... After all, we're talking about a TOXIC substance that once broken down, it binds to soil particles (or in cases where it ends up in marine ecosystems as was the case above)it binds to marine sediments where it can pose as a threat to shellfish, muscles etc... There's no way I'd eat anything from the area after this sort of scandal. This is the same sort of nonsense that the public were fed in relation to 1080 being a substance that "safely breaks down in water"... Well, that was DOC's argument until of course an anti 1080 protestor in Nelson threatened to dump 1080 into the public's drinking waterways... suddenly the authorities weren't too supportive on 1080 being friendly to waterways.. I went hunting the other day walked up a river in mid canterbury only an hour in and i smelt rottern flesh it was possums in a stags wallow and litle creeks leading into the river just cause 1080 kills some possums its not bloodly good enough if they die in the creeks and rivers and kills native wildlife somebody grow some balls and screen the documentary poisoning paradise please
