Quick prison officers foil mass breakout

An attempted jail break has been foiled by prison guards today.
 
A group of nine inmates disabled a security camera in a prison yard at Mt Eden Remand Prison, and were caught trying to prise open a mesh fence.
 
Prison manager, Mac Herewini, says the escape appears to be spontaneous and his staff handled the situation well.
 
Meanwhile, convicted armed robber Kevin Polwart is still on the loose after cutting his wya through a double perimeter fence at Auckland Prison in Paremoremo two weeks ago.
