'Everybody Hurts', a charity record to benefit victims of last month's Haiti earthquake, has been released in the UK.
Masterminded by X Factor and American Idol judge Simon Cowell, it is widely expected to enter the charts at #1.
The recording features Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Susan Boyle, James Blunt, Miley Cyrus, Mika, Michael Buble, Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, Gary Barlow and many others.
Originally recorded by REM, 'Everybody Hurts' first appeared on 1992's critically-acclaimed album Automatic For the People. The band have opted out of receiving any royalties on sales of the new version, and Prime Minister Gordon Brown has waived VAT (a sales tax similar to GST here in New Zealand).
Proceeds will be split between newspaper The Sun's 'Helping Haiti' campaign and the Disasters Emergency Committee.
