These are rugby fans... What we need here is the America's cup. Then we'll get the shops rolling. Get on to it boys.
You're acting like this doesn't happen overseas! I toured Eire in 1999 and remember being charged different prices for the same beer because the person behind the bar slipped up and charged me the price they charge the locals - they even had a button for it on their cash register saying "local". We were rather annoyed at that, and that wasn't even during a major event!
All for RWC and sports in general, but come on sport and recreation is suppose to benefit the health of a nation. Also bad for the visitors as I have travelled a lot and know the feeling of being tourrorised! Well the proof will come after RWC for us Kiwis', but I expect a large number to leave the prices considerably higher than they were pre-RWC. Which makes me think emmigration ...
It is no way to treat guests.
hellokiwi sounds like a wingeing pom to me
Yep and Tournament Car Parking went from $13 a day to $36. Major ripoff. Unfortuneately for them their greed has turned to empty car parks. Idiots.
I worked at all the the three rugby games behind the bar at the ground in Hamilton, beer was $7.50 per can water was $5.00 per litre and even soft drinks were $5.00. Wine was $9.50 per small plastic bottle yes a rip off
Travel halfway around the world to watch footy and drink beer, and you get what you deserve! Saaaad shallow bored sheeple.
I was surprised when I went into the Fat Dog Cafe in Rotorua. The guy took my order (coffee and a scone). I then asked to purchase a Jam thinking that it would be a jam sachet. The Guy behind the counter said they don't have the jam sachets and that it was $2.70 for the jam - I said I didn't want to buy the jar just a samll amount to spread on my scone, he the replied yes it's $2.70 - I told him that I was a local not a visitor to the Country. He apologised for the price and in the end I opted not for the jam! I couldn't believe it.
we are only charging crazy because or RWC. eg. coke $3.50 during rwc...., non rwc time $2.20
$62,853. Half of all New Zealand households earn more than that, half earn less.
For the last week Campbell Live reporter Tristram Clayton and his family have been performing a social experiment.
It is the final day of our experiment with the Clayton family.
Our superannuitant Jenn Falconer usually drives from the Kapiti Coast into Wellington, but she's using her gold card which makes public transport free.
