Fifty years of racing will be celebrated at Bathurst this weekend, and to mark the occasion many teams have gone back in time.

The road was originally constructed as a scenic drive, but since 1963 Mount Panaroma has become more famous for racing rather than the view.

And along the pit lane this year teams are paying homage to the great race and its great drivers.

Five-time champion Craig Lowdnes has modified his car in remembrance of his mentor – the late Peter Brock – who won Bathurst nine times.

While Kiwi John McIntyre is racing this weekend in a retro style Ford to replicate the legendary one-two finish by Allan Moffet and Colin Bond in 1977.
