28-year-old actress Rachel Bilson created the jewellery to benefit the Diamond Empowerment Fund, a non-profit organisation that supports education in Africa, and will donate a portion of sales revenue to the cause.
Rachel was inspired to help after visiting Botswana and South Africa last month to learn about improvements made in the diamond mining industry there and wanted to do all she could to promote the cause.
The bracelet is made up of brown leather cords, with a gold charm framing a dainty round diamond.
The accessory retails for $100, with $20 from the sale of each piece going to the Diamond Empowerment Fund to build student housing at the CIDA City Campus, a university in Johannesburg which is the country's first to be virtually free.
The jewellery is being sold exclusively through InStyle.com.
This is not Rachel's first venture into design, She also has her own clothing range Edie Rose, but admits she struggles with some of the processes.
She said: "I can't draw at all, so I won't be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it's important to know more about the whole process of making clothes."
