It didn't happen overnight, but it did happen - Kiwi supermodel Rachel Hunter has returned home and to the brand that made her famous.

Sharing the spotlight with her 17-year-old daughter, Renee Stewart, Hunter will feature in a television campaign where she will reprise her famous catchphrase; "It won’t happen over night… but it will happen."

It is understood to be the biggest launch for Pantene since the 1990s.

Hunter says she is proud to share the ambassadorship for the brand with Renee.

"It was such a great campaign in the '90s," she said.

“Now I get the added bonus of sharing the experience with my beautiful daughter.”

The new venture will be Renee’s first professional assignment and she says she is "thrilled".

The television advertisements are set to screen in New Zealand next month.
