Rockers Rage Against The Machine have kept their promise to reward fans for helping them top the UK Christmas charts - they have booked a massive free gig in London in June.
The Californian band snatched the coveted top spot from the winner of Simon Cowell's talent show The X Factor, following an internet campaign to stop a four-year run of reality show stars ruling the festive charts.
The group topped 18-year-old Joe McElderry with the re-release of their 1992 hit ‘Killing In The Name’ in December.
They pledged to hold a free show for their fans if they managed to reach the number one slot - and now they have revealed they will stage the concert at the British capital's 40,000-capacity Finsbury Park on 6 June.
Tickets for the event will be distributed in a ballot system - fans have until 14 February to register their details for the ticket lottery.
Speaking on the UK's Radio 1, guitarist Tom Morello says, "We promised to play a free show if our song was number one at Christmas and here we come. We were very happy that our song was a vehicle for what was truly a grassroots people's revolution. It was not so much the band as the people who toppled the X Factor giant - frankly it was a shock wave around the world."
