It has emerged the police raid on the Dotcom Mansion has put a stop to the internet tycoon's lavish birthday plans.

Kim Dotcom turns 38 today and RadioLive understands a party was to be held at his home this weekend.

But the celebrations have been cancelled following his arrest.

Kim Dotcom - the founder of the website at the centre of a global investigation into online piracy - was among four people arrested in an FBI-led swoop yesterday.

Police have now wrapped up their search of the sprawling property and a number of larger items will be removed in the coming days.

Detective Inspector Grant Wormald says American authorities will help decide what happens to the assets.

The mansion was among ten Auckland properties searched, items seized included eighteen luxury vehicles, and electronic equipment.
