The Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are officially back - they have a release date set for their first album in five years and festival shows planned.

The group's new album, I'm With You, has been produced by Rick Rubin and will hit stores and the Internet on 30 August.

Singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith will be joined by guitarist Josh Klinghoffer on the album and on upcoming dates - the band will headline Japan's Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka on 13 August and in Tokyo on 14 August. They will also headline the Rock in Rio Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 24 September.
