What a crock of rubbish! Good ad for the flight experience business! These guys have clearly never flown out of queenstown. A new low for Campbell Live

Wow your reporters obviously are not interested in the truth of anything!! Just make it sound like some people might die and you have a story hey! This whole report is just a joke and has virtually no factual or informed info

Oh man that is embarrassing. I feel sorry for the "sim instructor," he clearly did not have a clue what he was talking about, and neither did the journalist. Hilarious... Not in a good way.

This would have to be the most absurd news reporting I have have seen in a very long time. Leave the investigation to the regulator and focus on the facts. This story might have had even an once of credibility if the "trained pilot" in the simulator from the shopping mall had at least a 737 type rating, experience operating into Queenstown and flew something remotely resembling an instrument departure. I'm sure anyone with those qualifications would not have agreed with the report's sensationalist style. But hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good story. Poor form TV3. If the public knew the true story they would have held the captain in high esteem for his attention to safety.

Pathetic journalism. As usual.

Poor jounalsim here both nights by TV3. First we are told it takes seconds to climb to 10000 feet on a normal depature, try 5-7 minutes. Next the aircraft 'fails to gain altitude'. Thats call flying straight and level and is Lesson 2 of a Private Pilots Licence. That is normal out of Queenstown, would you rather we climbed into cloud and had a guess where the mountains were?
As for the sim and the PPL instructor. 10km vis is considered excellent so not sure how 32km in not enough? That's more than the distance Auckland to Waiheke!

Oh that is tragic. I think ALPA/Pacific Blue should take it up with the BSA. The overall slide in journalism in the last decade has been pretty appalling. But this level of incompetence I would not even expect from an 8 year old let alone a current affairs show on national television.

Very much blown out of proportion, Pac Blue pilots are extreemly experienced & would never risk anyones lives & of course their own lives.

It would be nice if you could do the “hard work” and get some facts to back up your case. Perhaps at least talk to someone who has experience in and out of Queenstown and on the 737. This report is just more bs that misleads the public
John Campbell you should be ashamed. I hope you have a good legal team!
