Sony Ericsson could be developing a PlayStation phone built around Google's Android OS, according to reports.
Tech webstie Engadget says the phone will be like a cross between a Samsung Captivate and PlayStation Portable Go, according to their "trusted source".
Engadget says that while Sony Ericsson hasn't even released an Android 2.0 phone, it appears they are skipping straight to Android 3.0.
The phone/gaming device has been described in detail. It is said to feature PSP-style controls - D-pad, along with face buttons and shoulder buttons.
However, instead of the analogue stick, the phone will feature a touch pad.
The display is said to be around 3.7 inches (9.4cm) with WVGA resolution. A 1ghz CPU is being considered.
The source indicated that while it's currently branded an Xperia device, the phone will carry the PlayStation branding instead of, or in addition to it, on release.
In addition, the Android store will feature a section specifically for the device's games. The titles will have visuals in the range of PlayStation 1 or PlayStation Portable. Controls and hardware permitting, the games may be playable on other Android devices.
