So who pays for this rescue? yes we know pays for the government agencies involved, but who pays for the private chopper? Does the skipper just get to walk away from this with some sort of mild hero status? He had significant safety gear at home like flares & radio,apparently not working! I think people who are rescued from these situations should be made to give public lectures to all sea going idiots for a year or two, alternatively sell their assets and pay the bill.
