Rescuers forge on despite trying conditions

This afternoon, a bus took Nightline around three of the sites worst-affected by Tuesday's quake.

It was incredibly hot today, the wind was blowing, the liquefaction has dried and in many places dust storms are swirling and making the rescue and recovery operation more trying than ever.

But still, despite the conditions, the men and women working at these sites are forging on.
