A Palo Alto woman is US$2000 poorer after accidentally rewarding a group of unruly teenagers who attacked her with a milkshake.

Just before midnight on June 24, the woman was walking down a road when a white Range Rover full of teenagers approached, reports PaloAltoOnline.com.

One of the occupants of the vehicle threw a vanilla-flavoured milkshake at the woman, and she retaliated by throwing her alligator-skin purse.

Unfortunately for her, the purse flew through the vehicle's open window and the teens then drove off, US$2000 richer.

Police don't have any descriptions of the teenagers, who could face charges of battery and possession of stolen property.
