Funnyman Ricky Gervais was taken to hospital with crippling stomach pains after he fell ill during a TV shoot last week.
The Office creator was in London filming scenes for his new sitcom Derek when the shoot was stopped on Thursday after he complained of agonising pains in his abdomen.
A doctor was called to the set, and following an examination Gervais was taken to hospital where he underwent a series of tests before being diagnosed with gastric flu.
In a post on his official blog, Gervais writes, "I... couldn't stop filming, so in some scenes, Derek will look a little paler and sweatier than usual. Anyway, I had a form of gastric flu."
