What an absolute joke, the law in NZ is pathetic.I mean, I get prosecuted for grabing a bat and chaseing someone who is threatening me, my family etc?It doesn't make any sense!
These small business owners are genuine heroes they are prepared to work hard and long and are preyed on by the criminal element, who are not prepared to work and take whatever they want. The Police are of no help whatsoever and in practice are prepared to side with the criminals and vilify the robbery victims for defending themselves. Defence of self and others should be a basic human right, look at the end result around the world when all the power is vested in the state and criminals.Heaven help us when only criminals and police are allowed to defend themselves.I know who I would be giving the Medals to.
I agree with you Bryan Drake. Your comment about an outlet that is community owned rather than individually owned would perhaps put those Maori and Pasific Island communities more ownership and responsibility for their actions. Regardless it's a bloody disgrace that any Kiwi (Indian, Paskistani .. e.t.c.) are being robbed by other Kiwi's. Only one slight change though Bryan in your comment - Maori ARE Polynesian. Correct terminology is 'Maori and Pasific Island'. Kia ora.
