The mother of tragic British actor Robert Knox was distraught while watching his scenes in the latest Harry Potter movie - calling it a "bittersweet experience" for the grief-stricken family.

Knox was stabbed to death while defending his brother outside a nightclub in Kent, England last May.

The 18-year-old had completed a series of scenes in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince just before his murder - and his mum Sally struggled to watch her late son on the big screen when the film was released in July.

She says, "Watching him posthumously in Harry Potter was a bittersweet experience. We were all so proud, but of course it just reinforces what you've lost."

Sally Knox is determined her son's death isn't in vain, and has set up the Rob Knox Memorial Fund to help fund activity groups for teenagers.

She adds, "I tell myself that he would want me to try and make something good out of something terrible. If it can save one child then it will have been worth it."

Knox's killer, 22-year-old Karl Bishop, was sentenced to life in prison in March for the crime.
