Every year, there seems to be one really hot toy – and this year it's a pet for kids who want one and parents who don't.

They are electronic hamsters called Zhu Zhu Pets. They have names like Chunk, Pipsqueek and Num Nums, and suddenly these robotic rodents top every little girl's holiday wishlist.

They retail for only US$8 - if you can find one. But on the internet, they're going for much more.

Made by a small company, the pretend pets are expected to rack up US$50 million in sales this Christmas.

Why not just buy a real hamster if you can't find the toy? They don't last very long so the upkeep is fairly minimal lol. Or if you do have a pet theres a site with a lot of cool pet stuff at good prices http://www.coolpetstuff.com/?Click=6 (no pun intended)
