Since February’s earthquake around 500 Christchurch homes have been red stickered, the families ordered to leave because of the danger of rock falls and landslides.
Most people have already left their homes, but there are still around 20 or so property owners that have either returned to their homes or are refusing to leave.
The Christchurch City Council confirmed today it would be seeking court orders to evict red stickered home owners, and are currently using private investigators to gather evidence.
