Biography
 
Rod Vaughan was born and raised in the UK, but came to New Zealand and studied at Wellington Polytechnic Journalism School.  He got his start in the profession working in print journalism, with prestigious outlets such as The New Zealand Herald, The Dominion Post, and The New Zealand Press Association all featuring on his CV.
 
Vaughan then joined TVNZ and gave the state broadcaster 35 years, during which time he worked on shows such as Frontline, One News, Assignment, Holmes and Sunday, to name a few.
 
In 2003 Vaughan moved to TV3, and joined the Qantas Television Award-winning 60 Minutes.  He has a number of national and international journalism awards to his name, including the Qantas Media Award for Current Affairs Reporter of the year in 2000.
 
Vaughan currently lives in Auckland with his wife Lois, and has three grown up children.  Vaughan lists his interests as golf and aviation, and even hopes to finish off his private pilots license which he began more than 40 years ago.
