This weekend, roller derby fever will consume the capital with the Richter City Roller Derby All Stars battling the Sydney City Assassins.
But is the contact sport really just girls in roller skates knocking into each other?
There is a basic strategy to the game:
- Each team has five girls
- Four are blockers
- One’s a jammer
- The jammer scores points by passing the opposing blockers.
