Mitt Romney has promised America jobs if he wins the White House.
Accepting the Republican Party's presidential nomination, Mr Romney made a back-to-basics speech, focusing on family, employment, and a strong military - and he enlisted the help of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood.
Although the scripted interview with an imaginary Barack Obama was missing a few lines, luckily the crowd knew its cue when the “go ahead, make my day” line came up.
And that day would be if Romney became president.
Romney accepted the nomination with a speech that harkened back to the US' heyday as a superpower.
“That utter confidence that when the world needs someone to do the really big stuff, you need an American,” said Romney.
It was back-to-basics - job promises, the institution of marriage, a strong military and importantly for Romney - a mormon - religious freedom.
Romney promised a better future, not just for the US but the world. The question now is - will the US bless him with the White House come November?
