Two men charged with the murder last month of Polish national Roman Skorek in a popular Rotorua park have made a second appearance in court.

Rawiri James Samuel, 21, a baker, and unemployed 20-year-old Simon Herewini, appeared in Rotorua District Court on Thursday.

Samuel was supported by half a dozen whanau who sat silently in the public gallery throughout the brief time he spent in the dock.

The pair were remanded in custody to reappear on March 5.

Mr Skorek's badly beaten body was found in the city's Kuirau Park early in the morning of January 12.

Two teenagers have also been charged in relation to Mr Skorek's death and are scheduled to appear in Rotorua Youth Court next Tuesday.

They each face an assault charge. Because of their age their names cannot be published.
