A week after being demoted as ACT's deputy leader, Heather Roy was back at Parliament today.

Last week she described her leader Rodney Hide as a bully.

Today she says she can work alongside him.

One of her ACT colleagues, David Garrett, now says he's unwilling to show support for her. He says they weren't even aware she was back until she fronted the media today.

Late this afternoon Campbell Live went to Wellington to meet with Ms Roy.

So, what, exactly, is going on in her party?

Simply a case of a person selling out on themselves. Burying their principles to hold onto a very lucrative position. We saw the same thing from that gay guy in the labor party. He however burnt his bridges left it too late before he started covering up.This politician is quicker and smarter, so is now acting quickly to save her position. It would seem that having principles in politics is a big no no.Seems like they have no sincerity.Whether they walk out them selves in a tantrum, or get caught lavishly spending. They squirm like worms on a hook to hold on to their easy very lucrative positions.

It looks like a coup! But it is a coup by Roy conservative social democrats to forstall the sort of politics that has captured Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Holland and the Roy faction really has little to do with what a party supposedly for the market and to the right of National should stand for. The whole Vivien Judd, Roy, Newman faction simply stops Act being what it should be--a 30% right wing party. Roy would be more in place fighting for a place in the Labour shadow cabinet. Mapp is satisfied because she dosen't really challenge National defence policy- if you could call it that. Or ask for more money for defence. Roy is a safe pair of hands because she dosen't support the need for an actual combat defence force anymore than Helen Clark.

Sobriety is sooo attractive! Unfortunately it is impossible for any of us to make rational decisions once we have been drinking. Alcohol is a mind altering substance. Any of us could be in this young womans predicament when we drink
