The furore over the publication of topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge will continue to rage as she and the Duke of Cambridge go deep into the jungles of Borneo.

The couple vowed to continue their nine-day Diamond Jubilee tour after the French magazine Closer ran the shots of Kate on holiday with William.

"[They] remain focused currently on their tour of Singapore, Malaysia, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu on behalf of HM The Queen," a spokesman for St James's Palace said in a statement.

The royal couple jetted out of Kuala Lumpur after a Diamond Jubilee tea party at the British High Commission, at which Kate wore an elegant ice blue lace dress by Alice Temperley.

For the first time on the tour, her was hair pulled back in a bun held in place with pearl-headed pins.

But there was no mistake that William, who was seen clenching his teeth on tarmac and looking downcast, was furious about the breach of their privacy and the couple is looking to sue the media outlet.

"The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana... and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so," the palace spokesman said.

The couple were given a welcome reception when they arrived in Sabah, one of two states that makes up the Malaysian part of Borneo, on Friday afternoon.

They will travel into the tropical rainforest jungle at Danum Valley on Friday to explore the habitat and hopefully get up close and personal with some endangered orangutans.

Don't go topless if you intend to marry into the Royal Family.
