Rugby is too violent, there is too much alcohol, there is no loyalty and everyone is too greedy. And apart from brawn there is no talent required.

So now there is a 4th game against the Australians - boring.

Don Clark started it, others took it up and Grant Fox perfected it, and the running game died. Grizz Wylie brought it back when he coached Canterbury and for a while rugby was exciting.
But now it's boring. My solution - all penalties have to be tip and run. The only goal kicking allowed would be on completion of a try.

Get rid of rucks and mauls. There's nothing exciting about a dozen guys lying in a heap on the paddock. Maybe a bounce up as in AFL would work.
Or only the ball carrier and tackler to be on the ground.

Then perhaps we would have action packed, running games with virtually no stoppages

And bring back regional names. I don't want to see the Blues play the Chiefs. I want to see Auckland play Waikato. And Wellington, and Otago etc. Perhaps then we would get more parochial support.

And then there's the Super 14, more South Africa and Australia - same old same old.
