Everyone knows we live in a beautiful country - one that's rugged and remote and filled with wonderful characters.
But all too often the main highways and tourist attraction take us away from heartland New Zealand - to the detriment of the communities that aren't lucky enough to have a state highway running nearby.
So the tourist venture we're about to look at has bucked the trend, by starting out in about as remote a place as you can find.
The area we're talking about is a little-used route nestled between Taumaranui and New Plymouth.
