i have a friend from samoa who was there to visit. he stayed there when it happened. when he came ack, he said a girl yelled tsunami! and woke the village. they escaped to higher ground. do you think christchurch, wellington and other water cities should move to higher ground or to an inside city e.g hamner springs, taupo? if it is a big tsunami, not like the other this year? and if we aren't warned, should we gust be like that girl?

I want the NZ Media to be banned from Samoa. It's not a freedom when interfering with a sovereign rule. Fiji has a right to rule against the Media, Samoa can do.

I think this is a time to remember those who lost their lives and those who helped others during the aftermath, rather than complain and protest. There is a right time for such things. I was there on Namua Island with a group when the tsunami struck and although we ran for our lives we thank God for our good fortune. We send our love and prayers to all those in Samoa at this time and will always remember the kindness we were shown by the Samoan people. Our prayers particularly go out to those at the Taufua fales where we had stayed the night before the tsunami. God bless you and keep you safe.

Absolutely disgusted at the rebuild effort. What has happened to the many million of funds donated to rebuild the island. Families are still living without the basic necessities. Sorry to say this but our Government is run by a bunch of thugs (heartless Samoans) Most expat Samoans would like an independent auditor commissioned to reveal the truth behind this corrupt Government. I am in the right mind to protest down queen st to bring this corruption by our Government to light. Money donated from NZ ($107.000 000 NZ) that's not including the other funds from other nations which would bring that sum up another ($300.000 000 NZ) Total spend on rebuild ($5.000 000 to $10.000 000 NZ) What a disgrace???
