Convicted Australian drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has had more time cut from her prison sentence in a gesture of mercy on Indonesia’s independence day.

It could mean Corby will be out of jail in just over four years, after authorities took another five months off the cannabis smuggler’s 20-year term.

Seventeen months in total have now been taken off the 32-year-old’s jail term.

Corby was sentenced in 2005 after authorities found cannabis in a surfboard bag.

She's had "months" taken off of her sentence, not "years". I don't think she will be out in 4 years from now. The Indonesian people have been dragged through the mud by her people so why would they reward this by giving a lesser sentence?
