As a matter of fact Berry, this is not judging, this is the fact about our own children on the outside. We must have the gift to discern, if you dont then it is useless to go to church. There wont be growth in the church if you dont have the gift of dicerning.

How are you meant to get people to come unto your church when your judging everyone else kids spoiled and violent!! Creating a mission wow thats kool Jehovah witness people do missionary work. They go knocking on doors doing service Projects and praising GOD, It seems like you guys are taught to judge people it says in scripture "who are you to Judge" why are you guys then separating wifes from there husbands the thing I like about the Mormon church is they focus on Families and how to strengthen families of course and God Jesus his son and the holy Ghost so do Catholics ,Seventh day, asking money from the government i don't see any other churches doing that they are there own organisation.

Whether it is old or new testament community Destiny Church sets up, it will be better than what the world community today is creating. The world community is painting a fake picture of what they want the world to believe in.eg. New Zealand is promoting democracy but the no smacking law still went ahead with 86% against and with the new government still supporting it. Leave Destiny Church alone to create what is best for its members and their children. Our children on the outside are spoiled and violent. The statement preparing them for war is interpreted to spiritual war and not physical war. It is preparing these children to know what is good and what is evil.It is arming them with knowledge and wisdom to stand against the attack of the devil. If you dont go to church you wouldnt understand. If Destiny Church is a cult, so are the Mormons, Seventhday Adventist and Jehovahs Witnesses. They are all based on the old testament and the Mormon dont have a map to show us where the activities in the book of Mormons happened. As for me if what Destiny Church is doing will benefit its members so be it.

You can bet Destiny would still bother with having schools anyway, I mean what a perfect plan, its organised crime at its best really. They get them while there young becuase brainwashing them from a younger age is just so much simpliar, I mean they keep feeding them lies which they will think are normal because their parents back this up at home. They can keeping them in the way of the church and away from the outside world, away from anything or anyone that might allow them to have differnt ideals/opinions to Destiny Cult. Hmmm I wonder if there are alot of extra costs at this achool? I'm betting on yes.

Michelle, the onus is on the individual concerned, not on the church. We all receive the same teaching over the pulpit about doing the right thing through Christ Jesus, and its not our preacher's job to follow up on his people. It is their responsibility to do what is right, such as paying rent. They came to Christ with flaws like we all did, so why don't you do something about it instead of airing it in public as a way to gain public attention?

Well the Catholic schools have been state funded for years and they wont teach certain things like contraception.

You can't go after destiny on this one. I would say kids coming from those schools are in a very warm caring enviroment so why not have funding for them.

It s just a pity private schools don't get the same funding as the intergrated ones. It should be one amount for each child as all parnets pay tax.

Don't send your kids to wherever this lady was educated. What a dumbass.

Our taxpayer money already funds a moslem school in Auckland - I don't hear anyone questioning their faith which justifies taking someone elses life if they don't believe in Allah - and in their religion that is considered honourable. I am happy for my taxpayer dollar to go to a school that teaches, "thou shall not kill".

The monitoring board this lady set up in 1997 is obviously doing a crap job as there are more bad schools than good at the moment. Are people happy that their taxpayer money is funding a security guard at some school gates? Or that their money is funding the bad schools in the first place? If the state system was what it should be, Destiny wouldn't have to bother with a school.

Liz Gordon needs to define fundamentalism and stop scaremongering. New Zealand education system needs more clarity on core values and institutes as fundamental as the family. I am no expert on Destiny church but there are many good values in their so called fundamentalism. Perhaps Ms Gordon prefers the popular PC fundamentalism which saturates our society already. A Confusing and stupefying values neutral" ideology promoting a fundamentalism that says e.g. we don't use the terms husbands and wives anymore, only "partners", so we can include lesbians and homosexuals in the sacredness of marriage; the Keystone foundation for society. Perhaps Ms Gordon should have spoken out when the previous Government put a homosexual MP in charge of our kids education. catholics, anglicans, methodists, latterday saints,Unificationists,Seventh Day adventists, buddhists,Hindu etc.all have a defined criteria fundamental to their faith and worldview. We are allowed this in our democracy. Leave Destiny Church and peoples individual faiths alone. You have no right to use a week of your TV3 airtime to persecute religious people! Go and set up shop in a Gang HQs or a Hotel that harbours criminal activity. There is a lot of better alternatives for media to focus on.
