Boaters off Cape Cod are being warned to watch out for an endangered manatee that appears to be lost.

The manatee, native to the warm waters of Florida, has been swimming off Dennis for the last two weeks.

Boaters are being warned not to hit the gentle giant also known as a sea cow.

Officials are working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Orlando's Sea World to help coordinate a rescue.

Your Google map has Cape Cod in the wrong location. Cape Cod is actually on the Northeast Coast of the United States in Massachusetts. That is where I am writing from today.

Dennis the manatee was rescued this morning (October 11th) from Sesuit Harbor in Dennis, Massachusetts. He was captured by net and is being transported by truck to Seaworld in Oralndo Florida where he will get veterinary care, rehabilitation and will hopefully be released back into the warm waters of Florida.
